This has been recognized by legislation and regulatory bodies, resulting in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hygiena.com\/documents\/62931\/gfsi-drives-environmental-monitoring-standards.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><b>inclusion of environmental monitoring<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as part of the GFSI schemes, particularly since 2018. It focused on risk-based approaches, highlighting the importance of monitoring and testing in providing food safety personnel with critical signals for necessary corrective actions to prevent potential contamination events.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Staying compliant with environmental monitoring standards, as mandated by GFSI schemes, is essential for food industries worldwide. color: #0b163f;\">\r\n  <li>Identify the scope of the environmental monitoring (site, manufacturing area \u2013 EMP Zoning plan)<\/li>\r\n  <li>Identify potential microorganisms (pathogens, spoilage, and indicators)<\/li>\r\n  <li>Perform the risk assessment to identify critical zones and connect them to potential microorganisms<\/li>\r\n  <li>Define suitable sampling protocols (types, tools, techniques, locations, methods)<\/li>\r\n  <li>Define monitoring frequencies<\/li>\r\n  <li>Define action limits taking into consideration requirements of the legal, customer, etc<\/li>\r\n  <li>Record, analyze, and review<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p>Here\u2019s a brief interpretation of the environmental monitoring regulatory mandates as required for the different GFSI schemes:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<div>\r\n  <h4 style=\"font-size:17px;
